Ever notice how the moment you step fully into who God’s calling you to be, suddenly everyone becomes an expert on what you should or shouldn’t be doing?
It’s like there’s some unwritten rule that the second you get clear on your purpose and start walking it out boldly, the critics come out of the woodwork.
Some question your credentials.
Others attack your character.
And the ones that sting the most? Those come from people you thought you could trust.
I’ve learned that the bigger your calling, the louder the noise gets. And if you’re not grounded in who you are and why you’re here, that noise can derail you faster than a market crash can tank your quarterly projections.
So this week, I’m sharing two episodes of the Couch Time with Amy Wine podcast that dive deep into something every growth-minded entrepreneur faces: maintaining your integrity and authenticity when people come at you.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re not “enough” to do what you’re called to do, or if you’ve been blindsided by people you trusted, these episodes are for you.

- The best way to experience faith is to follow Jesus’s example of how He lived and loved people.

Key takeaways:
- When others betray you, it’s easy to blame yourself and question your judgment rather than recognizing their choices.
- Spiritual attacks often intensify when you’re about to do something significant for God’s kingdom.
- Knowing who you are in Christ will help you respond from a place of strength.
💡 Pro Tip: Create Your “Identity Anchor”

When criticism or attacks come (and they will), you need something solid to hold onto.
Create what I call an “Identity Anchor”.
Write down three core truths about who you are in Christ and what He’s called you to do.
Keep this somewhere you can see it daily.
When someone questions your qualifications or attacks your character, go back to your anchor.
Ask yourself: “Am I operating from these truths?”
If yes, keep moving forward. Their opinion of your qualifications doesn’t change God’s opinion of your calling.
Both episodes remind us that standing firm in your authentic identity isn’t about having perfect credentials or never making mistakes.
It’s about knowing who God says you are and showing up as that person, even when (especially when) others try to tear you down.
