31: Marriage Transformation: Overcoming Communication Challenges with Laura Hall

How do you overcome communication challenges in your marriage? What do you do when you feel that your marriage isn’t going to last? How do you learn to communicate again when you’ve only had years of either silence or arguments? How much does your upbringing affect how you interact with your spouse?

In this episode, let’s hear the answers from someone who’s been lost with those questions and is now making gradual marriage transformations. Laura Hall is from the Spark Re-Ignite Beta Online Course, and she’s here to share her experiences from before and after the course in her marriage.

When you married the love of your life, you thought that having a loving and upbuilding conversation would come naturally — far from it! If we’re not equipped to deal with stress, tragic experiences, and repressed emotions, junk piles up, and we fail to see the other side.

Listen in as Laura and I unravel THE reason behind the communication challenge in her marriage. She finally puts a name on what she has been dealing with for many years, because let’s be honest, you can’t change what you can’t acknowledge, right?

In this episode, you’ll discover:

  • The dilemma of wanting attention but failing to communicate it
  • Talking at your spouse vs. talking to your spouse
  • The consequences of stonewalling
  • How Laura got to their first breakthrough fight
  • The value of knowing your spouse’s love language

I am so humbled by how Laura showed up with such vulnerability and authenticity. She has a long way to go, but her determination to make her marriage work and celebrating her small wins is just phenomenal.

I hope her story will inspire many others who are struggling with the same issues. Always remember that you are not alone.

Keep the fire burning!  Don’t forget to reach out and let me know what resources would be helpful to you right now! I love hearing from you guys.

See you here next week!
XO,
Amy
